REG SETS UP TRUCK STOP BIODIESEL BLENDING PROGRAM
Leading biodiesel producer-marketer Renewable Energy Group announced a program for truck stops yesterday that it hopes will make an array of biodiesel blending options more accessible to truckers nationwide.
The new venture, called the REG Retail Biodiesel Blending Program and announced earlier today at the National Association of Truck Stop Operators 2008 show in Orlando, Fla., includes an offer of regular biodiesel supply as well as "state-of-the-art" biodiesel injection equipment. The injection equipment will allow truck stops to remotely adjust biodiesel blend levels daily, if needed.
The program will also include, as part of the supply agreement, an automated reorder process with REG capacity to remotely monitor biodiesel fuel levels and ensure dependable supply. The service is seen by REG officials as a big incentive for truck stops to adopt biodiesel blending, with the assurance of a constant stream of "high-quality" biodiesel supply.
Ames, Iowa-based REG bills itself as a full service biodiesel company, including biodiesel production, management, marketing, sales and plant construction management. The REG network currently includes seven operating biodiesel plants, accounting for more than 222 million gal of annual biodiesel production, with three additional plants now under construction. |
